Benefits of Wet/Dry system

When the filter pad- filter wool and bio sponge are exposed to air and water at the same time instead of submerged, the bacteria does a way better job converting ammonia to nitrate. More efficient conversion = a healthier tank.

The water that returns to the tank is also extremely well-oxygenated.

The wet and dry separation system can trap the fish poop on the physical filter cotton to prevent the fish poop from flowing into the biochemical filter chambers. Sewage enters the Bio Sponge through the physical filter cotton pad (filter wool pad) and drip in. As water is dripping, water droplets drop from the high-level biochemical sponge into the first biochemical chamber. Due to the gap between the biochemical sponge and the biochemical chamber, the water has sufficient contact with the air-oxygen when dropping into the biochemical chamber. In turn, it brings sufficient oxygen to the entire biochemical chamber to ensure the propagation of beneficial bacteria. This is the key to the wet and dry separation system.
